2001 International Door Electrical Question

Hello All:

I have a 2001 Int. 3800, and I want to be able to open and close the electric door without having to turn the key on every time. I found the power wire going into the door switch, but when I replaced it with a 12VDC battery wire, the door wouldn't open. My guess is that there is something in the key switch that gets energized when the key is on, like a relay that sends power to the door motor.

What I'm really looking for, I guess, would be some high quality schematics of the entire bus. I'm pretty well-versed in wiring and such, but it's so much easier when you start with a schematic!

Thanks in advance, and have a great day!
