'92 International idi 7.3 speed governor

Hello all,
Please forgive me if this has been well covered already, but i'm new here and the searching that i did didn't turn up a clear answer. Feel free to direct me to another thread, but please make sure the links are current if you do-i checked one out that seemed promising and it was dead. I have a '92 International shorty with a 7.3 idi engine and i'm trying to figure out how to disable or adjust the speed governor. It's a Sturdy brand, located on the passenger's side of the firewall, and it has both throttle cables and electrical wires going to/from it. And lest you try to discourage me from messing with it at all, it's currently set at about 49mph!
Thanks in advance!

Aaron

Take some pictures of what you have and we can try and walk you through it. Most of the time you can open up the box and remove the gears that are inside of it and that will eliminate it. However sometimes you end up actually removing the system altogether and rerouting the throttle cable back to the injection pump.

Here's the offender-should I take the cover off and take another photo? (Trying to do this in an iPhone, hope it attaches.)

Yes, remove the screws that hold the cover on and snap another.

Those are the gears. The ones on the shaft held by the two phillips screws.

Update?

Hey Pianobus- have the same bus here. How did the governor removal work? Did it change how your engine ran?
