Anderson Connectors

Who uses them? What size? And would you recommend?

I just received my 50ft roll of 6 awg zip cord and 10 50 amp Anderson sb connectors. They look like they are heavy duty and the special crimp tool looks to make secure crimps but I have no experience with them. I know they are used a lot by a lot of different industries but I’d like to hear how they hold up under prolonged high amp draws and constant vibration like our application would put them under for years at a time.

If you didn’t like them, what did you replace them with? Butt connectors? Bus bars and eyelets? Something else?

Nothing better in most use cases, assuming you do actually need to dis/connect at that point.

Obviously the ampacity depends on the load and/or wire gauge.

15/30/45 APP are interoperable.

I reco proper marine-rated wiring.

Yeah, they would be for an alternator’s connection, battery connection, pretty much anything stationary that I might want to remove later and I don’t want the risk of breaking an electrically conductive stud. Like the post on an alternator that might snap after the nut rusts on.

A rear jumper cable port would be nice too. Help out a fellow traveler or some other need for high amp 12v or house voltage (48 for me) device.
