I don't see smoke... So, what's the problem???

I need to replace the lexan gauge cluster panel on my boat (corners are chipped)... I've seen behind it, and I sure keep putting it off!

BTDT. No problem, just cut the wire, strip about 3 inches and ,twist a couple times, cover with scotch tape.

ahhhhh, i see now

was on iphone last night

that's an easy fix!
just leave enough slack to turn left twice, then back to center, and 2 turns right,,,, shouldn't be more than a couple feet.

Hah, yeah that is a moment all right. There have been many times when I was feeling very pleased with how cleanly a project had came together, went to close it up, and then suddenly realized I had done something goofy - like soldering something in backwards or somehow managing to install a power button on the bottom of a case instead of the top. :eyeroll:

The real test is whether you are good enough to tear it apart and put it back together well enough that no one can tell you mucked it up just by looking.

That's what butt connectors & heat shrink tubing were made for!

It could always be worse....

I kinda like the look of that!
Maybe rip em all out and put thru the wheel. Just leave more slack this time in case you want to turn lock to lock.
