Can anyone tell me what this is? Pic
I'm looking for the ODBII port on my bus and I came across this which had some wiring harness plugged into it that said Zonar, I have no clue?

trucks don't use obdii, they have their own protocol. j1939 or j1708 are the truck connectors

So what am I looking at here, and is there a good thread on how to pull a check engine code or clearing them?

someone with some modern diesel experience can answer better than me, some day i'd like one of those fancy data readers

2002 Freightliner Thomas body 5.9L with Allison 545, it had a lift in the back and was not full length.

In addition to GPS tracking, ZONAR also has a system of RFID chips/reader to verify pre operation inspections. My bus had a bunch of half dollar size ZONAR RFID chips inside and out at every inspection point. I think the driver carries a RFID reader with them that verifies the inspection. So I suspect your device was related to GPS and vehicle operation data collection. Should not affect vehicle operation. I'm pretty sure the short cutaway style busses (i.e. based on E350/E450) have OBDII

Yeah I pulled apart the whole dash and followed all the wires thinking I would find an ODBII l, I was just an idiot and pushed a switch by the steering wheel that said "engine check" and when I hit it the check engine light came on, it's not ever been on since I've had it and now can't get t off

It may stay on for a set amount of time... Like 100 miles, or x amount of start cycles. If it wasn't on before it likely doesn't mean anything.

I thought it would be too, but I've just about driven 120 miles and started up about 20 different times in the past week

My "service engine soon" light came on when I bought my bus. The mechanic hooked it up and it was a reminder light that I needed to change the oil. It went off about 200 miles into the trip home (the oil had been changed at the dealer that morning) and hasn't come on again.

It's a j1708 plug, plugged a Scangauge D into mine and I can read and clear codes and much more.
