Charge controller size (amps)

I just picked up two 255 watt panels and 2 costco golfcart batteries 210ah 6 volt. I plan on hooking the batteries up in series to make a 12 volt system. Im having a hardtime figuring out what size charge controller that i need. Can anyone help me out ?

Allowing for the usual deratings, a 30A charge controller would work for that much PV power. However, if you get more panels in the future you will then need another CC. Why not get a 45A or 60A CC now, then you've got room to grow.

If your panels actually output 12v, 30A is only good for 360 watts. My panels put out 18v or so, so 30A gets me up to 560W. I have 4x 100W panels and use the Wanderer 30A PWM charger. It's a budget charger but does a great job, I have the same unit on my bus and on my boat (2x 100W panels on the boat)

Ok sweet , i will try that first and see how it goes. We are getting the panels at 120/piece so we will probably add more over the next year
