Cleaning Chassis Batteries

I’m starting to learn preventative maintenance practices for the bus. I’d like to inspect and clean the terminals on the three chassis batteries. Is there a recommended sequence to remove the cables for safety reasons. I’m familiar with single battery car setups, not multiple.
