Did you swap or do you have one of each now?

I returned the 4375. No restocking fee if you are getting a more expensive model to replace it... So now we both have 3500s.

Excellent, I'll have to remember that!
That is the unit we were looking at a little while ago. Since we do not NEED it right now, we decided against the purchase (right now).

Has anyone tried a exhaust attachment that goes straight up above the roofline with muffler pointed towards the sky? I saw a picture somewhere and wonder how effective it is?. I think it was a Honda modification.

You have to be careful with exhaust routing, they recommend at least 5 feet away from your structure. I would worry more about horizontal distance. It won't do anything about the noise level though!

I have a need to sleep with A/C in summer.. so alas why I use a generator if I overnight.. its either that or I have to run the diesel engine... whicbh is worse for noise and environment?
I tried running my portable A/C on my battery bank and I get a couple hours and dead.. I think propane burns much cleaner it seems than gasoline does..
roughing it with summer sweat is probably the cleanest methodology to the environment...

It has been proven the changing the muffler makes little if any difference in noise reduction most of the noise comes from the motor itself and not the exhaust system.

Jack , that might be true. Comparing generators in itself is fine. Without the purpose of use it all depends on the background noise. If you are at a truck stop one is acceptable ...if you pull up 1000ft next to a tent camper at a quiet lake dB's get a very different meaning, especially if one has the urge to run it for extended time. Compare needs to include your mission.

No worry jack. Thanks for putting a sound dampening box around me. How many db did you achieve. At least you come thru loud and clear.
