Headlight trouble [91 Thomas]

I have a front headlight and a front highbeam out. I replaced them both (water seems to have reached the previous sealed halogen lights), but they still don't turn on. I have no idea what I'm doing with wiring, and the lights themselves had very basic "unplug these, plug the new ones in" instructions, so I'm not sure where to go next.

Are you getting power to the socket you plugged the new light into?

If you don't have a test meter, try plugging the new light in to the cord that the currently working headlight is plugged in to. If it still doesn't work, then you know the replacement unit is bad. If it does work in the other socket, then there is something wrong with the power line to the socket.

Check your fuses. On my Ford the right and left headlamps are fused separately probably to avoid having both go south if a fuse blows.

Is your dimmer switch in floor? I noticed mine didn't work & then I tried them later & they did. I'm guessing since mine is in the floor water must have gotten to it & corroded it. I need to remove mine & clean it.

Check your grounds. My 98 B700 Thomas has a headlight that comes and goes. Took the cover off and the buckets are rusted terribly.
