Help me chose a power centre

I am trying to decide between the WFCO 35 Amp and 55 Amp. Why would one go with one over the other?

I am not full timing, this is purely a recreation build.

The electrical I will have is as follows:

120V: 12,500 BTU A/C, 3 outlets, 1 GFCI outlet (only coming from shore power/genny)

12V: propane fridge power, hot water heater ignitor, 2 ceiling fans, 1 fireplace fan, 12 led pot lights (from battery bank, or shore)

There will be no microwave or tv at all. We plan to stop using the AC if we need to use a blender/ hair dryer/ .


Should I be fine with the 35 Amp?

The power center rating is for the dc section. Add up the current rating of your dc devices to determine which power center you need. The power center will have A/C breakers too, so you will need enough for the A/C devices. The Air conditioner might work on a 20A breaker, 30A may be better. The power center will need to accommodate a 30A breaker if necessary. You can have multiple A/C outlets on a shared breaker. You can have multiple dc devices on a shared fuse. The power center may include a battery charger. The battery charger will have limitations on the number of batteries connected. Probably o.k. for a couple batteries, maybe not for a big bank. I considered the WFCO 35 Amp for my short bus. I went with the Parallax 6730D because I prefer a metal case. You would probably be fine with the 35 Amp power center.

Thank you for the breakdown. I went with the 35 as I am not full timing and just don’t have a lot of power needs.
