I am rumming a coleman mach series air conditioner. It barely puts out any air and i

I'll interpret as I speak Squid: Clean the unit- youtube videos. Dry clean, then wet clean. delicate parts. messy.
If needs a charge (compressor runs) they need to add ports, i don't like saddle valves- braze is more gooder.

Rusty, I agree. Maintenance should be relatively easy, not made more difficult. (Detroit, do you hear that? I like being able to find parts on my vehicle. Please don't make it more difficult.)

Its a brand new unit. So i doubt it needs a charge. Its clean. Almost spotless.

output temp will depend some on current temp among other factors. should be in 50's range. last time i checked mine was at 52f with the probe inserted in the outlet

Well, if it were me.... And it was Father's Day...
I'd head down to Harbor Freight and pick up several of their quilted moving blankets, hang them on the walls to create a thermal barrier...
Not just for testing purposes, but great to use year around for various things!
I use my Camo pattern a lot, and they're damned cheap!
Shoot, with some paracord and a few trees.... Instant survival shade

One coleman rooftop and no insulation in the roof is gona make for a hot bus even with the ac on blast.
The bloodmobiles here in central FL have like 5 rooftop units going full blast.

I have a second unit in the back (of the window type.) im pricing spray foam to insulate between the Windows and the steel. And in the ceiling. Any suggestions on foam type?

Check outlet temp, my old RV AC would deliver 20* under ambient. Never was impressed.

Have you pulled the front grill off yet to check for any packaging materials that might impede the fan or block the air movement? Keeps them from bouncing around in shipments.

is the issue that the air isnt cold or that there is very little air volume? what brand and model is it?
most rooftop units move decent air.. (air volume will feel similar to a window unit or car A/C vents)..
the air temperature on a spot unit like that should be 20-25 degrees colder than input.. run the unit for 10-15 minutes..
put a thermometer on the air intake, then on the vent closest to the coil.. (be careful about sticking the thermometer too far into the vents you can contact the fan or coils)..
if you have very little air volume and still not a good temp drop.. maske sure nothing is impeding the fan.. fan speed on most of these is important as its a single motor for outdoor and indoor fans.. as well as you need good airflow across the outside coil.. the lid needs to be secure on the outside of the unit.

It starts out cold and then starts to warm up. I then run just the fan for about 10 minutes, after that it blows cold again. inspection shows ice on the copper leading into the radiator (evaporator?) not sure of its nomenclature. I'm not an a/c guy.
