Load center type

For a 120v system with 50amp plug in, what type of load center are you using? Main lug or Breaker? The physical size of the main lug style I found fits best in my basement, but not positive I should trust every rv park to provide protected circuits.

I may have spaces to backfeed 50amp service through a breaker if necessary.

For the record, I will have an electrician bless off before I connect to live.

I would go with a load center with a main breaker. I would have to dig out the code book to verify but I am pretty sure that NEC requires it.

Even if it doesn't I would not trust the RV park pedestal to protect my bus.

Good advice. Was looking at RV specific load centers that combine AC and DC in one unit, and they were protected with a main.

I know people on here have used main lugs though and haven't heard of problems yet. Think I will spend a few more dollars and go with a main breaker.

Since I didnt need a converter for dc side( using an inverter/ charger with built in xfer switch) I decided to go with this unit. They do offer larger units if needed. It has spot for Main breaker(input from shore/ genny) and 4 breaker locations for your appliances. On the DC side it has 12 spots for your DC items. For $60 thought it to be a steal...
