Momentary electrical loss

Anyone ever had their bus just lose electrical power, momentarily, but long enough for the engine to stop? Diesel. 5.9 12 valve Cummins.

Found a loose cable on the battery but that wasn't the issue.

Always happens when slowing to stop or turn. Hasn't happened when accelerating or over about 25 mph. Even when stopped, electric will click on and off. When it clicks on I start the engine and quickly get rolling and off I go. When it shuts off, entire dash is losing power as if you turned key off. Bad ignition switch maybe?

Chassis ground appears to be good.

I'm baffled. Thanks!

When you are running with the lights off do they go off too? You probably have more than one ground. You could also have a bad cable inside the insulation. You probably have a primary wire from the battery the underhood fuse panel. You might try having someone sit in the driver’s seat watching the dash while you jiggle wires.

If you think it’s the ignition switch, jiggle that.

to the best of my knowledge, a 12 valve will run with or without any electricity. at least my '93 will.

i have 2 hot leads from the battery. one goes to the starter, the other powers the dash. check that second hot wire.

perhaps its your fuel shut off solenoid. I'm not sure of the polarity but it the power is holding it open, it sure might shut down the motor.

i disconnected my fuel shut off solenoid and switched to an old fashion pull knob to shut the engine down. now once in a while i'll stop for a rest stop and turn the key off and keep the engine idling. i forget to key back on when i start up and driving down the road i see dead gauges, which is my reminder to key on again. they run fine without electricity.
