Solar / Alternator... bi-directional charging

Hi all. I have 500 watts of solar but when the sun doesn't shine I'd like to be able to charge the house batteries from the engine alternator. Everyone is familiar with that. But I would also like to be able to charge the engine battery from solar if I was ever is a circumstance where that was needed.

Can this be as simple as a switch and a 100 amp solenoid to connect my house batteries to my engine battery? Am I oversimplifying?

Thoughts / concerns?

Thank you!

Ross
