what size diode for solar panels?

im near to having my basic solar setup complete. im told that i need a diode on the positive wire in between the panel and charge controller. i have two panels that i plan to hook together, so i guess i need a diode for each one?

well i walked into radio shack and asked the guy to help me find diodes but he knew nothing about solar or which size diodes i needed. he did show me to the drawers of diodes for me to pick from tho.

so i guess im trying to figure out what size diodes i need? i plan on getting my one 190watt panel working and then adding my other 190 watt panel.

thank you all for your help

Most panels have diodes built in.. I haven't seen any that are designed otherwise. If this holds true then you don't need any additional diodes. Unless you were wiring them in series, I suppose, and wanted a bypass diode..

Your charger should have a diode as well.
