Back in the day when I had to run low voltage control cabling in plenum I was required to use "fire rated" wiring = PTFE = teflon = PITA. Hard to work with, hard to strip, expensive. The rationale we were given was the reduced toxicity of the insulation in a fire. Standard insulation burns, teflon melts. I'm not sure I buy the "reduced toxicity" explanation, but I did what I was told.
