Can I use black water treatment on gray water tank?

My gray water tank smells bad and isn't always draining properly. I've never treated it with anything. I have some Campa-Chem Original Holding Tank Deodorant and some Aqua-KEM Liquid Holding Tank Deodorant. They both say on the label to pour it through the toilet so I wonder if that means they're for black water tanks only. Can I also use them on the gray water tank? Any other ideas for gray water tank maitenance?

You probably have some organic material anaerobicly decomposing, residual food stuffs probably.
Depending on total capacity, and how full it is, a quantity of bleach (preferably in a sinkfull about to be drained) down the sluice should silence your noxious microbes.
Pre-rinse and scrape before doing dishes. A mesh drain trap is good too, to catch all of that large stuff that won't easily drain out, and later morphs into odiferous gunk...
Can't help you if you want your grey tank smelling minty fresh!

Should work in gray tank too.
x2 on not letting food or other organic solids go into the tank...
