Composting Toilet - Another Question

I've seen lots of questions and answers about these. I have one too.

Sorry, no delicate way to ask...

What about splatter (on the walls of the bowl)? Is it a matter of just wiping it manually every time? Spraying disinfectant? Seriously, not every potty stop is as clean as others.

I am already convinced that composting is the way to go, but just asking. Surely there are some less than delicate moments?

With a urine diverter there really is no "spatter". The bag inside the bucket contains only solids, paper and your composting material.

I think he was talking about when the poop doesn't go directly into the chute...

The Air Head I will be installing suggests using a paper filter then going, then opening the chute. A Youtube video I saw just used bio degradable coffee filters as the 'landing pad' then open the chute to drop the poop into the tank.

I think that will be the way I go, I made a funny...

After re-reading, I think I understand what Twigg was saying. But yeah, Jamie, you got my question exactly right.

I don't even know if that's a joke. Newbie alert lol. Sounds like a good idea to me.

There are numerous different designs around.

With mine, if you get poo where it shouldn't be then you have bigger problems

Mine is home made except for the commercially made urine diverter. I spent less than$100 on mine and I am pleased with it's performance.
