That is a "slim, elegant" design? It holds the compost in a bin under the bus? Why is it so big? If it is porcelain, it must be ridiculously heavy. I'm sorry, but to me it looks no more "beautiful" than any other dump pot.

i am still thinking that if i decide to take my dumps with me as I travel, I will make a simple squatter stand, a short cone-tube, open at the top for a toilet seat, wider at the bottom, like an outhouse, with the bin under the bus. But I don't want a 2' diameter hole in my floor like that, so.....I will continue digging holes in the woods for a real composting toilet, a bucket with a sealing lid, or use a toilet in a truck stop if I'm on the road.

I also looked at yacht hatches. Over $700, maybe $1000 for a nice 24"x24". I will "manufacture" my own, and have the pride (or complaints of junk) for myself.

Funny how yall are so passionate about how you carry pooo around. Personally I have never had a black tank and never will but for some people they wouldn't live without a flush toilet ( Or their significant other cant?) Just glad there are so many options available and another beautiful thing about building your own bus is you can have it the way you want not the way joe shmo built it for Mercedes

We've got limited experience, but I'll say that our Nature's Head has zero smell. Even the urine bottle isn't all that smelly, surprisingly. It's not the most comfortable to sit on but so far we're pretty impressed with our composting toilet.

Not sure if anyone has solved your problem for you yet, but I'm using this British company. They will ship to the US and the total price including shipping is still less than a nature's head. And to my mind, this is a much more attractive option. Designed by a man who was living full time on a boat and had the same objection to the look of most composting toilets.

The Ecoflo ones are ok. It's unfortunate that the Natures Head ones are speckled with another color because we could settle for one of those. We also found another one that looks great but it's almost $6,000 lol!

We did find a solution. It’s somewhere on this thread. I forget what it’s called. Thank you for the reply though! That toilet looks much better than others we’ve seen

Males have to sit and the bowl is deep enough that there’s no urinal like splash back. Slight learning curve for females but worth it.

We dump around a 1/4 cup of white vinegar into the jug, seems to keep the stank down for the most part. I've occasionally used some strong bleach water in the empty jug and let it soak for an hour or so to keep the jug from getting that nasty discoloration.

Unpopular opinion here I'm sure; I can practically hear the eye rolling from here even before I post this but since you did ask:

You can stop eating meat. Really. I can tell if a meat eater has been in the regular loo before me even after a flush - the smell is so strong! It's also (besides not having children and not flying) the single best thing you can do for the planet. Win-win!
