Fetching water?
Hi all! Newbie here in the dreaming/feasibility planning stage. Which means I have a lot of dumb questions.
If one were to consider full time skoolie living, how does one go about accessing a water source to refill the water tank? Assume shower and sink, but maybe not an actual toilet. PortAPotty is sounding more my speed. Thx!

home, service stations, camp grounds - maybe carry a small pump to access a stream ( boil water advisory )
when we travel with our sled dogs, we often stop at a restaurant and get 5 gals +/- of hot water to mix with their supper

BLM and other areas sometimes have hydrants that aren't threaded. For those you need a water-thief.
A hose (several sizes recommended) that slips over the faucet. Hose clamp on one end, the business end fitted so you can attach your hose.
You want a potable water hose, btw. Typically, they're white, but I have one that's green on the outside, but the collar (& white interior) proclaim it as drinking water safe.
That is unless you don't mind the tasty toxins that may be found in a typical garden hose...

That has been something we have been dealing with during our first 3 months of travel.
Some fuel stations have potable water. State parks or campgrounds are nice for a night. Flush tank, fill water, empty trash.
Joshua tree and some other Nation parks have water stations as well.

We've had good luck paying to dump and fill at private & county campgrounds, too, even though we don't stay there.

Just one thing to add, I keep drinking water seperate, as I do sometimes fill from lakes or streams. Once home will empty and refill from the well though.

Just so happens that where I am in grant pass you can do a bulk fill with the city!Ill look into other areas as well and if i find anything more like this ill share the link.
