Re: greywater/blackwater - why 2 tanks?

mine's only gonna have one. I'm trashing a 74 Winnie.(got it free) It's got a pottie/shower combo, so only one tank. I think it's 35 gal or something. I plan to be hooked up most of the time, anyway. LUV the free stuff.

Another reason to run two would be to have a second pump that hooks up to the gray water and pumps that to the toilet for flushing and helping keep your fresh water longer.
Otherwise I ran two just like busnutz said. I let the gray water dump to the ground when the campground allows it or if I am somewhere where I can do that such as at home I let it out right on the grass.

Re: greywater/blackwater - why 2 tanks?

When I had my travel trailer, I dumped the grey water out onto the grass sometime when I was boondocking. I have also been known to dump my entire black water tank all over the Flying J parking lot. Accident of course. But on my bus, I'm installing a 95 gallon fresh water tank on one side, and a 95 gallon black/grey water tank on the other side. It would stand to reason that when I'm out of fresh water, it's time to dump the nasty stuff, and refill the fresh. nice and simple!

Just don't forget that you will be adding "personal volume" to the black water tank, which, when added to your fresh water, will add up to more than 95 gallons. . .
