Ideas regarding sunken shower pan

We are considering lowering the shower pan by cutting a hole in the floor of the bus and framing with steel (most likely), etc. and getting the shower pan to be sunk about 8"-12" below the inside floor surface.

Anyone out there that has done this and can provide photos, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!!!

Good idea ! I'd go even deeper and have a full sunken tub !! A welded pan w/ a flange dropped into the hole would be cool, obligatory spray foam exterior. Make the floor out of Plexi and you could see the fishes go by....

Me??? No, this is your pan plan. If you want to save some dough (and I know you do.... Get a used commercial stainless sink and have the fabricator (you) start with that. Hit it w/ sander/wire wheel when done to make look pretty and add swirls, lines, whatever machine finish you want. Straight polish might get slick. Bonuse: It has a drain already, just may require support below if thinner.

Used commercial because is thicker / better stainless.
