I was told that the hepvo will pass air as the water is passing and does not need a vent to drain like a p-trap. It will not let air pass the other direction and keeps the "smells" out of the RV. So you would only need a vent on the tank it self, not the drain lines. This is from a Hepvo dealer. Roach is correct, if I'm to beleive the dealer.

Yup, I'd have to agree with you. I'm in the process of installing my grey tank and the 5er I tore up for parts included a spring loaded one way valve (1 1/4" D) down stream of the P-trap on the kitchen sink. This will let the grey tank drain freely. But your post reminds me that I haven"t vented that particular grey tank. I vented the black tank and the shower grey tank (which empties via a pump to the main grey tank), but completely forgot the need to vent the main 40 gal grey tank. Since drainage won't be a problem I'll just thread a 1/2" fitting into my black water vent and use PVC from the main grey tank. Talk about perfect timing--thanks.

very cool Trunt!... there is always something eh?

hey i got my hepvos today and was test fitting them...... well 1 1/2" hepvo is a different size than 1 1/2" abs. probably the thickness of the pipe but it gonna take a couple of trips to the hardware store to make this work i think..

grrrrr

Yea, I found that out too, There is a PVC fitting made to hook them together, although I'm not sure what it's called. The plumbing guy at the hardware store knew what I needed.

The First Law of Projects - All projects require three trips to the hardware store.
