Shopping for holding tanks
Where have you all had good luck finding well priced tanks? Right now I'm finding 100gal tanks for ~$500, or >250gal tanks priced more reasonably at $150 and up. I just can't see where I would be able to put a 250gal tank, and I don't think that I can spend $1,000 on water tanks. Suggestions?

We are going to hang 35 gallon poly drums under the E450 and 55 gallon poly drums under the Bluebird.
Locally available, cheap and rugged.
Fittings are available for the "bungs" as well as "spin-weld" fittings.

Just stop by a weld shop and price a custom size tank in Aluminum or stainless. I had two 110 gallon stainless tanks made for a reasonable price. And they fit exactly the way I want.

You in the US or Canada? I went with Blaze Plastics. 98 gallon fresh, 85 gallon grey and 30 gallon black, shipped, for 615 CAD
I am doing my own fittings though

Are you able to share the price? My 110-gallon stainless tanks with fittings were $388 each, shipping included, certified food-grade. In hindsight, I wish I would have shopped around more.

I am a poor lost soul. Looking for CHEAP holding tanks. I plan to put fresh water tank under twin bed inside at back of skoolie. Minimum 100g up to 200g if I could get it. But seriously $500 starting price! I will be living in and away from humanity and utilities. Waste tanks will go under and need be min 50g. Please help me find much less expensive tanks.

There was a thread that I commented on that had 100 gallon tanks in the $175 range. A search using my name and "100" or "gallon" should find it.
If/when I catch up, I'll look for it.

Thank u. I noticed right off these tanks were different. U directed me to "portable" tanks and I was looking at "rv tanks". I guess I have to adjust my thinking. Going this route means drilling the holes and buying all hardware seperate. I just hope it still comes out less expensive. I have much to learn.

Please keep in mind I am looking 4 something size and shape of twin bed about 16 to 20 inches tall max, 75 long and 35 to 40 wide. All outlets on "end" or short side. Like a fool I decide what I wanted before knowing what was available.

Ronco Plastics in Tustin CA made all four of my tanks. They're rotomolded from 3/8" polyethylene, and each tank has umpteen fittings spin-welded into it. They cost me $2.50 per gallon, including all the fittings for free. Check out their website - there's not much they don't make.

Portable or potable? Potable will be food grade (I hope). For gray/black water who cares as long as it doesn't leak.
As for the link someone else on the forum "found" them. So far they have been the cheapest that I've seen. I do NOT have yrs of experience or spent hours looking so grain of salt.

Well, now you're just being high maintenance!! Seriously tho, keep in mind that if you start going "custom", you're going right back to the fancy high dollar stuff. Work it from all angles. If you can find your 16" max height tank for an extra $20, go for it. But if your fancy tank is $500 and you can get an off the shelf one that is 24" tall for $100, guess what; someone is getting a step stool next to their bed and dealing with it!!
Your design and level of wallet pain will set the breaking point.
Your level of effort as well. Think outside of the box. Your tank is going under a bed. Taking up "wasted space" so why not cut a hole in the floor between the ribs. Insulate the bottom of your tank that is below the floor and it still won't freeze. Now your 24" tank will fit under your 16" bed. Location will dictate all of that but I've seen below floor shower pans.
