Re: sunken tub/shower

oh yeah it will be braced, also doing it in the rear corner on drivers side so the factory braces will still be there, and it will be braced to the frame underneath like a fuel tank to a frame (big rectangle tanks on the side of truck frames)

since this area is past the suspension points and such floor flex/twist shouldn't be an issue (also that area of the frame also has a "roll cage" for support and protection of the fuel tank)

also plan is to not really support it with the bus floor

I still have to get underneath and measure etc...in my head it'll work...

also a sunroof bubble is still a possibility also...so maybe won't go thru the floor.

we'll just have to see

Is your fuel tank suspended by the roll cage, or mounted on it's own, and just protected by the cage?

If the tank mount is separate, do your self a favor and drop that 750 pound boat anchor. My B700 felt relieved the day I got rid the one it had hanging there on the passenger side. Talk about loaded to one side. 90 gal of fuel, a 200 pound tank, and 750 pounds of unneeded steel.

Re: sunken tub/shower

the cage supports the tank between the frame rails...I never want to be near it if it gets hit hard enough from the side or rear to rupture the tank, that's for sure

Re: sunken tub/shower

That's funny... I have that same water trough to water my cows.

Don't means to steal the thread but I do have a question....

I am going to try and do a shower toilet combo sort of like this.....

I have a regular RV toilet so not sure if it will cause any issues. To me this is one of the best ways to have dual purpose of space and use it wisely. Would like to know if there would be any known issues of doing it this way?

Bapos, not to continue the thread theft I'll just say that that is how many of the smaller R/Vs and trailers of the '70s were put together. As long as you aren't too tall or too big around it works fine. My bus is only 5'5" tall inside so I built a pop-up and dropped the br 7 1/2" so I can stand up. I am using a sump pump to transfer shower water to the grey tank as the drain is too low to work otherwise. Oh, the regular toilet will work just fine. Jack

Just cut a hole in the floor and sink the entire bathroom. I chose 7 1/2 " drop because it is a common stair rise.

Re: sunken tub/shower

Well me being tall and big kind of jacks that up.... Im 6'3" and 260 lb so yeah I see issues. Ill find a way to make it happen. More worried about the toilet things than the shower as that is not a huge need but more of a convince. We all need to drop cargo?

I Doing This In My Bus.... Im Sinking The Wine Barrel Into The Floor About 4 inches, I still have to make a tray, and the water will drain into grey tanks mounted directly under the tub... This Is more of a Soaker Tub, as I Fit, but would not to be in it daily, and is still big enough to have a shower in...

Welcome to the sunken floor club. I don't think anybody here has access to your C: drive, unfortunately.
