advice on venting a propane fridge?

I need some ideas for my LP fridge. I heard that I should vent the exhaust chimney out the roof. I was also wondering how much space to leave between the back of the fridge and the wall (metal) to keep the heat at a good level. Does anyone have experience with one? Thanks!

If you are talking about an RV propane refrigerator... All the RV propane refrigerators that I know of have a vent on the roof and a vent/access panel at the rear of the unit on the outside wall. The bottom of the vent is generally 36" off the floor. Ours on the Class C was about 24H X 24W.

For the past 20 years, i have just used the 3 inch round vents on the roof for the friges. you can get them at camping world. As for the side doors, you may or may not need a vented panel, depending on what other lower vent you may have right there, but for sure, you need one so that you can get to the back of the frig for service, so one large enough to do everything without removing the frig is a good idea. And metal enclosure for frig is good idea.

I vented mine out the side, but in a floor type vent just above the back door of the fridge, works fine. Ill try and take some picks of it, if you look at my thread (skoolie days) you will see the vents by my propane box.

you'll want the fins on the back close to the wall. That way it will draft the through the fins. If the fridge is too far away will not work properly

thats right, mine is about 1\2'' to 3\4'' away from the wall, make s a chimmeny effect. googal your fridge modle,you might from a install manuel, thats what i did.

If its electric only, then you only need a top vent.. and not much of that.
Just keep in mind that both the electric and the propane heat in the tube, so if the electric elemt quits, ya still gotta yank it out of there.
