Or on the alternative side there is the $49 Wonderwash which uses no power and takes up relatively little space. With that you could use a spin dryer. There's one on the market from "laundry alternative inc" that uses just 190 watts and can take a 22 lb load of clothes for only like $160. They also make a smaller counter top version of the same dryer for about a hundred bucks less...
