We're a couple and I am a lady of generous size
We have in our apartment a Panda XPB36 and we love it. It's a twin-tub washer; agitates on one side, spin on the other. We hang our clothes to dry and even in the Ohio humidity in the summer, it takes about a day to dry (way less, of course, in the winter when they're hanging over a floor vent!). It takes between 32-40 gallons of water a week to do 4 loads of laundry on the weekend. We've had it for not quite a year and still love it. It's manual, you can't just "set it and forget it," but it saves on laundromat costs and feels a lot easier on the clothes. We did have to buy lint filters for while it's washing, otherwise there was a lot of lint still on the clothes.
When we get Wanda the WanderingBus home, we have a closet in there that we plan on using partly as a drying closet so we'll do laundry daily-ish and hang the clothes in there with the window cracked for air flow. It's currently on Amazon for about $140.
