I need to remove the ceiling panels but don't want to get rid of the A/C evaporators. How do I take them down without fully uninstalling? I'm afraid of losing that refrigerant!
I searched the site and google but didn't find any useful info.
Thanks.

most usually they are supported from the ceiling and the lines themselves usually run through a plastic housing that goes down the wall.. remove the covers and you can disconnect the clear plastic drain lines (these go to the pan below the coil).. take pics, mark and disconnect the wires..
you should be able to remove the plastic housing covers that cover the black rubber freon lines and remove the clamps holding the lines to the wall..
these black lines are flexible.. you should be able to drop the evaporator unit down and support it on a table or such.. sometimes the lines are long and flexible enough you can set the whole unit on the floor...
if those lines are run up inside the bulkhead then unfortunately you'll likely have to suck out the freon and disconnect the linesets.. but most busses ive seen just have the lines run down the side between a couple windows or down the back of the bus.
