Install shuttle bus ac in skoolie - foolish?

Hi skoolars,

I have a line on a 2009 shuttle bus ac system (evaporator, condenser, compressor). The interior unit mounts to the interior roof, and the exterior is skirt-mounted. Price around $500, negotiable. It’s an ACC Climate Control unit.

I have a 2000 dt466 dognose bluebird 3800. No road AC, but I have installed an roof Atwood unit that runs off shore power (and a generator, down the line).

My first concern is connecting a compressor to the engine. Does anyone have photos of the compressor and bracket on a similar bus? That would be a big help!!

Second concern is the size of the project. Part of me is up for the challenge, the other part of me thinks this will be a flipping nightmare.

I am mechanically-minded but I have no real knowledge of AC systems (but I had no really knowledge of how to build a skoolie, and that appears to be chugging along ok!).

So, any input from people would be great. Calling me a damn fool for trying this is also acceptable.

Cheers

Douggy
