New Fridge
It arrived this morning! I am SOOOOOOO happy! 15.5 cu ft GE top-freezer New Fridge arrived intact just before Noon. I was expecting to be held hostage by the "we'll be there between noon and 5 pm" threat.
Brought it in through the E-door in the side with about an inch on either side to spare. It's a high-efficiency fridge and the shelves in the door can hold gallon jugs. Looks kinda empty, though. I have been using a dorm-fridge, which fills up entirely too quickly. I do have to buy ice-cube trays.
Does anyone out there have a recipe for ice?

You seriously need to watch that Soviet-era ice. Its chock full of Dihydrogen Monoxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, and Hydronium Hydroxide. Really some bad news.
See here for peer-reviewed research papers on the matter: Dihydrogen Monoxide Research Division - dihydrogen monoxide info

Most people are confused when making ice.
you don't add cold you remove the heat.

It's true, they taste much better when prepared by the heat removal method instead of adding cold.

Total myth. You're looking for the phase change. (Cooling is for people who cant apply enough pressure. Lol!)

The mother of a high school friend used to spray Pam in her ice cube trays so the ice would come out easier.

Siloxanes work good too. Of course, people tend to get cancer and die horribly from it, but thats entirely beside the point.
(Does this thread get the award for "Maximum Drift In Shortest Time"? Hehehe)
Back on topic: congrats to the OP for a new fridge! I just installed one as well, slightly smaller in size, and LOVE it. Cold beer while putting the interior together is a good thing! Except for the occasional impairment on overall productivity.... Hehehe

For folks who just have to have ice in their cocktails...there are several 12v ice-makers on the market these days. And they work great. Small and put out a LOT of ice in a hurry. Buddy has one in his pop-up he take to the races.
Frozen Margaritas anyone?
