Room free standing vice roof AC

So I have a question. Who out there has gone the single room air conditioner route vice the roof mount? Last week Costco was offering ($399.00) the DeLonghi Pinquino which covers ~500 sf (Twice the size of my rig) If this thing works as advertised, it looks like I will get everything I need, along with the option to set it up in the master bedroom when not on the bus. It draws 10.5 amps, it’s quite and blows cold air. With a roof mount, I would have to cut structural steel to install the thing, not to mention a 14x14 hole in the fiberglass roof. What am I missing here? Looking for thoughts and experience.
All the best

a free standing room unit stands a chance if your bus is SUPER insulated... I bought the mac-daddy of all free standing units.. a 12,500 BTU Inverter, 2 Hose (dont even bother with single hose they were worthless) unit.. in my factory bus where its not insulated, the only things thats cool on a 90 degree day is my face when buried in the vent....

any A/C will have trouble unless you really insulate well.

I bought one of those Costco Portable AC units a few yrs ago, Only wanted it for my bedroom so I didn't need to run the home Ac, EXTREMELY noisy & ran constantly to try & cool just a bedroom. My 2c don't waste your money.

We tried a portable ac unit once. Didn't do anything except make noise.
