Red face Running RV AC off of SOlar

Dometic Low Profile Penguin RV Air Conditioner

Following the Link is an RV Ac unit I was hoping to install on my skoolie. Can anyone give me some insight to AC and the possibility of running it off of solar alone?

Yes with a kW of panels sitting in the desert, the panels will feed a very small aircon unit for the hours the sun is strong.

But to run off batteries in the evening requires a huge bank and double the panels, and staying solar only means just a few more hours.

For 24*7 or fewer panels you need a genny for sure, and all those batts just means a little time shifting.
