Wood stoves??

Okay, so I've been browsing for a bit trying to find all the information I need about putting in a wood stove and haven't found real answers to my questions.

I've been researching different ways to heat the bus, and it seems like having a woodstove is going to be the most beneficial way.

So, what's the deal with insurance?

What are the safety regulations that need to happen?

How close can you build to the stove?

Have you guys used any "portable" wood stove options?

Any resources are super appreciated! I'm also on a tight budget, so I'm looking for cheaper options. Thanks, everyone. You're the best

I sure would not mention it to an insurance company....

If you are someone who likes to follow regulations then I would suggest using the building code for houses to guide you on the wood stove installation.

Any modern woodstove will have a tag on it saying how close it can be to things. Antique woodstoves are another matter, and for me I would not be inclined to use an antique as there are often not airtight, and fitment of parts may or may not be real good. Stray sparks would be a concern if all joints do not fit perfectly. Now if you really understand woodstoves and there construction and know what is safe and what is not then by all means look at antiques as well.

I do not have a wood stove in our bus, but have one in the house which we use a lot,and it is installed to code.

There is a lot of reading here in past threads re woodstoves. I would look at them and size up your situation. This has to be done right or not at all imho.
Insurance is not a worry just build it safe and then operate it safely too.

Install it after you are insured and plated and you are good to go.
Cheap is not a good way to go here. If you can't do it yourself, be prepared to pay for good labor that knows that business well. Your safety will depend on it being right, well anchored and good, leak free piping to the outside.
