1988 Gillig Phantom
What’s up everybody.... just like many of y’all my family has caught the skoolie bug. My name is Mike and my family and I are converting Beacon, a 1988 Gillig Phantom with a 6v92 Detroit. The plan is a full conversion from new floor to 20” roof raise. I’m not real good at the youtube thing but I’m going to try and document progress on YouTube and IG. We are dramatically downsizing from our current house, going skoolie, and going to travel the country one national/state park at a time. We hope to cross paths with many of y’all and can’t wait for the adventure to begin.

I was able to post pictures in my first post as well. It wasn't until after I did it that I read about this five post minimum. I'm not sure it's in effect anymore or maybe has something to do with how I was using the site? I used the Chrome browser on my phone but, I am now using Tapatalk app because of the simpler viewing of unread threads and ease of comment posting between pictures.

Hi Steve... the gentleman I bought the bus from in CA was a huge help. He walked me through a lot! Almost like drinking from a fire hydrant but we made home! However, I didn’t realize just how much oil the bus drank! It was 3 gallons low... OUCH! The computer only yelled at me one time and it was right before we pulled into the neighborhood. Whew... dodged a bullet! Now it’ll be sitting for a bit while I start the conversion.

Just remember to stop regularly to fill your oil and check your fuel
