WOW, I love that style!.
I had a '46 3/4 ton pickup with the same powertrain (other than rear axle).
I bet that little engine sounded like it was going to fly apart even at 35mph.

What is the story as to only 15k original miles?
Was it a once a month go into town prison bus, lol?

Just UNDER 15k original miles! Per the previous owner, Jeff, he purchased the bus from his uncle. His uncle had the bus on his farm because that's where Jeff's grandfather parked it. Evidently, the bus was purchased NEW as army surplus. It was never used as a "bus". Per Jeff, the bus was used by his grandfather to travel between Minnesota and Texas. It was parked on the uncle's farm and the county was giving him grief about it, so Jeff took ownership and brought it up the condition in the photo's. 15k...can you believe it? I crawled inside, outside, over, under and in between. The body is cherry! The engine blew an exhaust gasket on the way home and we found a warped manifold. Got it fixed in Omaha and made it a few more miles down the road before she quit. No noise or anything, so I'm thinking it must be electrical (points? coil?). The guy at the shop in Omaha (a mobile heavy truck mechanic) is doing the transport for me. My wife spoke with him this morning (01/04/17) and he said he should have the bus here by Saturday (01/07/2017). Once it's here, I'll start the diagnosis. Hopefully, the fix won't be too painful.
