And the Search Begins...

Hey Skoolie.net,

My name is Destiny and I’m a 20 year old college student looking to get my first bus! I have a healthy budget of $5,000 CAD.

The dream bus would be:
-8/9 Window International Dog-nosed
-2000-2003
-Any Allison tranny other than the 545
-DT466, T444E, or Cummins 8.3
-air brakes

Bad news? It’s impossibly hard to find used bus sales in Canada.

The good news:

I live at home with my parents and we have a large yard with plenty of driveway space, a shop big enough to fit a shorty, and stocked with every tool imaginable. My dad used to build houses so he’ll be able to help with the conversion, and my uncle is licensed to drive air brake buses so he’ll help me get it around!

If anyone has any suggestions on where to look in Canada for bus sales, that’d be great!

Destiny,

You are specific in what you want which is helpful.

Here is one. Most AZ buses are Rust Free! I bet you can negotiate lower on it. It might be too short.

This might work. There are more than one of these. I'm not sure what transmission.

Some will say that this is too much and another great option are auctions. Here is a great post of where people bough their bus. I would try to stick with buses with least amount of rust.

Glad you are here!

Welcome,

I have seen a number of buses on Govdeals.com and Publucsurplus.com in BC and Ontario.

Thank you for this, I have looked through all of Canada, I swear, but unfortunately I’m unable to go the distance to get a bus in the states ):

I have found a few full-sized, and I’m hoping they’ll meet the criteria. It sucks I can’t find the size I want around here.
