Buying a bus this weekend!

Hello everyone!

My girlfriend and I want to buy a shorter bus this weekend in Illinois and bring it back to Michigan to work on it. What do we have to legally do in order to drive it home; as far a registration, insurance, and license requirements. I believe you have three days from the time of purchase to plates, but what about the other two legal requirements?

Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated! I am very glad I stumbled upon this website!

Info.

If you are buying from a dealer they should be able to help you. If not have the seller ask a dealer near him what to do. As a last resort contact the DMV where you are buying the bus. You may be able to find the info on line. You will of course need insurance before you go so get the vehicle info ahead of time, including the VIN.
