Considering a skoolie for mobile office / trade show RV
Have some opportunity to start attending some weekend shows. Was thinking a Skoolie would be good as it is larger than my Sprinter and I can carry much more weight for inventory. Any thoughts would be welcome.
Some have wheelchair lifts which can serve as liftgates. Just be aware of possible (likely?) commercial usage, insurance, and licensing (if over 26K GVWR), assuming it's a business use (I can go into more detail if this is the case).
If you have somewhere to park it at tradeshows and in between them there's not much downside to it. If not it may become a hassle for you. Happy building
We sell solar panels for RVs and I thought I could make it a nice show room to have panels controllers and everything set up. Trying to grow our business and website and want to visit more trade shows. I think I can pay for some spots at outdoor shows.
Have a call into the RV show to see if it will be a parking issue, thanks for the feedback.
Great idea, never thought about that. The solar panels are about 37 pounds each. I can't see having more than 10 or so at any time. Don't think people will leave with them, so I am hoping weight won't be an issue. Weight is an issue on towing though, my sprinter van only has a 5000lb towing capacity.

RV parks are famous for excluding skoolies. It would be amusing (kind of) if RV shows did the same thing.
Yeah I don't think we are going to be too heavy, Just a sofa, couple of bunks, fridge and some RV solar gear. My main issue is that my Sprinter has a max 5000lb towing capacity, so think towing may be out of question.
