Will, hit our first hurdle (traffic cone?) - insuring a double deck bus. Progressive and National General wouldn't touch it. That being said I talked with two agents from both and hot two different stories... Curious what reality is.
Either way, sent pics and VIN number to the broker who finds me homeowners insurance, will see if he delivers.

Try Allstate, I can send you my agent info if you like. They gave me RV insurance (although it's liability-only) although they know the bus hasn't been converted yet (they even have pics of it).
My bus actually came from Cazenovia - small world.

Super small world! That being said, the NYS used bus distributors are in Chittenango about 4 miles north of here - so I'm not _too_ surprised!
What I really want to know is if the owner of the Skoolie parked discreetly behind the Nail Salon "downtown" here is on these forums...

Speaking of Allstate ... you can call Kelly Newsome @ 352-326-9300. She is based in Florida. If she can not write the insurance, she will know who to direct you to so that you can get insurance.

Well, this is rapidly becoming my 'prebuild' thread.
Yesterday I walked around town and dropped into a handful of local insurance agencies (apart from the one I usually use). They seemed happy to help me figure it out, so things are (hopefully) going well.
Seller will deliver Sept. 14th!

Bus arrives Saturday! Buttoning down the last of the details so I get it registered and titled ASAP. Got a quote from Progressive by going through a local agency...she was able to do what I could not.
Got my NYS R Endorsement Permit today as well. Process was really simple. Filled out a form. They corrected it, bustled around trying to figure out what to do to actually get me the permit, and then finally got me out of there. PROTIP: bring toddlers with you to the DMV for extra speedy service!
Next step here will be to find a DMV where I can take an R Endorsement test, and a person who I can practice with once or twice and who can accompany me to the road test. Your driver is carded at the test to ensure you drove there legally.
I'm also in the process of raising the lines that drape across my driveway, they're about 13'3", and I need them the legal height of > 13'6". Everyone's giving me the 'not my problem' speech, but everyone's also admitting it's definitely supposed to be higher. Lucky I've got friends at Spectrum and acquaintances at National Grid who can help me walk through the process...

NB: The line raising can happen after I take possession as this part of NY gets a lot of snow and so I own two roof rakes that get to be about 20-30 feet tall. Touch comm cables with a roof rake is harmless.

Make that Sunday! Oh well. More convenient for us anyway, but I was excited to get a look at it.
