Man you've got quite a few threads on these buses.
I'm pretty sure we've all told you what we think.

I'd RUN away. too many NICE buses for not much more money. Sure, he'll let ya make layaway payments, but its probably the only way the guy can find to sell em.
Run. don't walk- RUN!

Patience is all you gotta have. Patience and a couple thousand bucks.
My NICE daily driver bus was $1760.
There are some real nice buses in Welch WV if you don't mind a shorty with a stick shift. They're gona go cheap.
I've never paid more than 2100 for a bus, and both mine are running beautifully. Just can't jump on the first pig with lipstick that comes along. I don't even think those pigs have any lipstick!!!
Just my 2cents. Save up and count yourself lucky you aren't in a clapped out junker with one foot in the grave.

My bus is out of Alabama. there is no need to pay through the nose for one.

I paid 4k for mine, put another 2k into it so far and most was for a good check up before a 2000 mile run. But please understand mine was already converted to haul a car inside it and sleep 6. Still needed to be finished and still does but that is next on the agenda for me once the race car is done.

Where are the Welch, WV buses listed? Shortie with a stick sounds interesting.

Good luck. I would love to bid if all of my money wasn't tied up in my current bus. I may have to research swapping a 5 speed Spicer into my 2001 Amtran.

an allison 1000 or 2000 series... they have a Lockup torque converter and alsdo an Overdrive gear..

reduces RPM's at light / moderate throttle and the lockup converter makes the Transmission run cooler / less lost power in the form of heat like the 545 does..

the AT545 allison is a bulletproff trans and mine works great.. im just thinking Upgrades..
