french familly road trip summer 2018

hello the skoolie's, we are a french familly with 3 kids ( 13,10 and 8 years old) and we plan to make a "road trip" starting from my sister place in long beach... the national parks, idaho where I lived in 1991 an where I have some friends.
Here in France we run our vehicules with vegetable oil since 2003. We planed to buy a school bus ( or RV but we like the idea of the skoolie ) with enough places for EACH to sleep easely, and try to run it with vegetable oil.
Therfore we look for engines built possibly before 2001 , even 1996 for some brands ( without electronic injection).
I have somme experince in veggie diesel cars since this years if somme people have questions.
We planed to buy a skoolie at the begginning of the summer 2018 ad sell it at the end ( september).
We are also open to rent a skoolie if there is the oportunity.
I went through a few parts of the forum and it looks like plenty of nice people and experiences.

sorry for my english that is quite old in my memory

Fred, Caroline, Yaëlle, Nathan and Zazie

Unless you have a ready supply of veggie oil I think you would be better off taking the money you would spend on the veggie conversion and just buy diesel fuel. Especially for a cross country trip.

I live in southeast Idaho. If your plans include my area and you are looking for a place to park for a few days during your road trip, you are welcome to come to our farm.

welcome to the group. You are going to have a blast. That is why we are building a bus ourselves!
