Greetings from Chicago

Hello all,

I'm a longtime city dweller looking to make some changes in 2019 to spend more time outdoors and travel the country. I purchased an AWD Astro last October and traveled for about six weeks, but ended up selling it over the summer. I'd like to get something larger and was looking at used Class B RVs until I came across the idea of converting a retired school/shuttle bus.

I'm actually meeting with the person selling this bus this afternoon. It appears to be in good shape and the price (from what I gather) seems to be reasonable enough. I've also thought a bit about the gas vs. diesel route and think I might be better off going gas.

If there's anyone in the Chicago area who has done a skoolie conversion, please send me a DM. I'd love to meet up and buy you a beer/coffee and get some insight on the life and some of the specifics to doing this stuff in and around Chicago.
