Hello Everbody!!

I've been a member here since Sept of 2015, but have never really introduced myself.
My name is Kent, and I'm from Walla Walla Washington. Used to be a Master ASE auto tech but have let that lapse. For the last twelve years I've been a Locomotive Engineer for a local short line railroad.

My wife and I have really gotten into camping as much as possible throughout the year. Last year we bought a new camp trailer and a truck to pull it with. The truck is a 2011 GMC Sierra with the 5.3l engine. While the truck does ok pulling the trailer, it only gets about 8 or 9 mpg while towing.

So.....I have been looking at converting a school bus and here I am. Finally got the wife on board with the whole idea!!

We have narrowed our choices down to two different drive trains: the Cummins 8.3l with Allison MD 3060, or the International DT466 with the Allison MD3060 or MT643.

Right now we have our eye on a 1993 International Genesis with the DT466 and MT643. This bus has 228k on it but seems to be in good condition.

Would anyone with this general drivetrain or the Genesis in particular like to comment on their experiences with it?
We are really looking forward to the build and would appreciate any and all comments.
