Welcome!!

Also in Florida. My wife and I are working on our first bus right now. A 2001 International GA-something or other. We're in the Pensacola area. Whereabouts are you? There are a few Floridians on here. This forum is the best resource I've found. I don't do much contributing, but I do a lot of learning!

I'm in central FL in the rural outskirts of Apopka. Well, my bus is. My house is in Eustis.

Lots of folks here from the sunshine state.

I have been looking around at different places to relocate to someday. Naples caught my attention.

The summers look to be a little milder than North Florida.

IDK man. It's generally hotter and more expensive to live the further south you go in FL.

I have been looking at climate and real estate online.

It "looks" reasonable from 3000 miles away

I found some 2+ acre lots just out of town for $30-50k. Room for a shop, bus parking and maybe a little house.

In my area you can get around 5 acres for around 50k if you look outside of town.
We're looking to sell our house in town and move 5-10 miles out.

if you can be near a coastline that helps a lot. Don't underestimate the value of the sea breeze. Being land locked is pretty awful!

the mid interior seems always to be the hottest.. it was always a bit cooler in tampa / st pete than it was around orlando and surrounding areas.. Naples may be a bit milder because its on the coast.. now south interior is wicked hot but swampy so not many people living there..

if going to the south be near the coast.. if you can be within a mile or so of the water another benefit is many less mosquitos it seemed like compared to inland..

im looking for a place in West palm / jupiter (near the water) as we speak.

The spot that I was looking at is about 16 miles from the coast just a bit off of I-75. Too far from the ocean???

Christopher,

If you move to Jupiter be ready for company

Do you dive?

I think I looked at that bus the morning you bought it. The guy who had it said someone was very interested in it. Good luck! I look forward to seeing your build. 😀🚌

Agreed, I live in Titusville. If you know where Kennedy Space Center is, we are directly across the river from there. We are not on the ocean but we do have a nice coastal river/lagoon.
