Hello from Georgia

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking and learning for quite some time now. So much quality information on the forum here, thanks for that, I have gotten quite an education.

So to it: Found the bus I am going to buy. 1997 BB FE with Cummins 5.9 and a brand new Allison transmission. I think it is a 545 or maybe the 643 I will confirm. I have driven it and it drives great, no problems there.

We have decided to call her the 5972 Express, some of you will get this I hope.

I pick it up on Wednesday. So Excited!

Any way, Just saying hello and thanks for all of the info.

Yeah, I have been looking for a while and decided I like this look of a bus the best.

Same bus I have. Mine was built in 1997 too. And I am pretty happy with mine.

It will be the good old mechanical cummins too. An added bonus.

Yeah that was the main reason I decided on that one.. and the cargo space under it as well.. two doors on both sides behind the rear wheel and two on the passenger side and a single on the drivers side..

that should help with plumbing a lot..

My bus is two windows shorter than yours. And I have struggled to mount everything I need under there. I only have one cargo compartment. It is the battery bank area. I just had the cargo compartment off this weekend. resupported it, and drilled 14 holes with a hole saw for ventilation for the batteries.

By the way, i wouldnt put more than a couple hundred puonds in each compartment without building better supports. They are not held up by much.

thanks.

I just got off the phone with the insurance company. They have already done all of the research on it and it is currently insured by them with the current owner.

I fill out a piece of paper and I have a policy on it.

And the title has already been switched to a BB MH.

So I am really happy about that.
