Hello from Ky

Hello everyone, newbie here. Wanting a short bus so that I am comfortable driving it. I have no skills in building, electrical or plumbing. My son is a diesel mechanic, so there is that. I want to power from solar and battery bank my fridge, internet and such. Plan to have a shower with an Ivation shower head into a tub and composting toilet. Where is my magic fairy?

I bought my bus from Todd Co in Elkton. Nice people up there.
I've seen lots of nice stuff in your area lately on Public Surplus. Have you tried there?

Well, today's your lucky day......I just happen to have that info.

McDowell County Board of Education
30 Central Ave
Welch, WV
Contact: Adam Grygiel
304-436-6133

They had 4 different 5-6 window shorties with 444 engines, Spicer 5 speed manuals trannys, and wheelchair lifts. I think the years were 1998s thru 2001s....a few had as little as 135K - 150K miles.

I kept the contact info because I keep thinking that maybe I could start off with a little smaller camper, but then keep realizing that, damnit, I want an 8 or 9 window.

Good luck.

I have on occasion earned the sobriquet "You The MAN"! I always turn and look behind me.

x225, these were conventionals (not E350 or Corbeil types).

I'm curious to know how much they're selling for. I know one of the auctions (the bus with 135K miles) didn't meet reserve at a $1300.00 bid.

I'd met the reserve on one but was outbid. IIRC I'd bid like $1500.
Oh- and...

Just thought I'd add this for bus seekers --

On the Public Surplus site, if you create an account (all they ask for is a username and password) you can save interesting buses to your "Watch List". The listing and pictures will stay on your list until you delete them (in my experience at least 3 months so far), and you'll know what they sold for or what they DIDN'T sell for. Plus you'll have all the bus and contact info for the seller if you want to call them after auction end. Makes for a handy comparison tool.

If you wish, you can sign up for email alerts when new buses fitting your criteria are listed.

I love Bill Murray, but would be hesitant to accept anything from ol' Vlad. I always wonder if he's related to Ras Putin.
