Welcome Alvin.

Read as many build threads as you can. That's where the real info is.

Asking questions will just get you opinions, not real info or experience.

Every bus build is a reflection of the builders skill, character, and personality.

Some end up as life stories.

I personally love the build thread section and read every one posted on this forum.

Looking forward to pics.

Nat

Welcome All Kiwi's! --- The truck houses you folks build down there are legendary. And while I can't imagine what all is involved in the switch to RHD, the Freightliner sounds like a solid choice for a build platform.

And please...post some pix of your progress.

Cost 10K USD to ship , It is the only one of its kind in NZ. There were 3 1985 International buses bought in from the Navel base in Japan they were factory RHD all are on the road 1 as a party bus and the other 2 as motorhomes.

We only get European or Asian manufactured buses here so even at around 20k NZD to buy and import it still works out as a cheap late model bus.

Where will you be sitting with it being converted to a RH driven bus? That would place the drivers compartment right over the entrance steps.

Sorry only just saw this . cost was 10 k for sea freight. + another 2 k in bullshit charges!!

I converted myself , I would imagine if you had a shop do it you would be looking at around 20 k .

You would have to look at a later than 2011 model as the emission laws have changed so the earlier buses don't meet the regs now.

The other thing is the overhang length.. 70% of wheelbase or 4mtrs which ever is greater.

Hope this helps Alvin.
