Hello from Ohio

Messed around and wound up winning a sealed bid auction at our local school.

Navistar DT 360 185HP Engine
AT 545 transmission
66 capacity
185,000 miles

Batteries are 2 years old
Tires are pretty new
Oil last changed in August 2018
Passed 2018-2019 State Inspection

Came with all manuals/diagrams!!!

Initial Cost of my Project? ——> $1991 ( yes, I bid its year of manufacture )

I am a driver for the School, and 12 years ago I trained on this bus for the first time. Actually, I just used it for the pre-trip on my recent recertification!

I’ve been lurking here for a month or so, its A FABULOUS source of info!!!

I’m still Amazed how many people do this!!

Welcome to the exclusive group of bus owners. Are you planning to convert it? It is an arduous though rewarding journey.

Thanks for the Welcome! Hello to Lebanon! I’m originally from the Huntington area. I have 2nd Cousins in Lafayette!

Yes, my goal is an RV to take Summer Trips in with the family ( 6 of us, although the oldest 2 are in College, 3rd heading next year ). Also some hunting and fishing trips with the guys.

My goal is a dinette/ bed in the back, twin bunk beds, and a cooking/ cleaning area. Also a couch area(s).

I was able to take the bus home before the Holidays, and have started the deconstruction process. Thus far I’ve gotten seats and flooring out. I’m pretty happy with how the metal looks! I’ve also gotten the panels above the windows out, so I can get to that wiring and then run what new I decide.

Since Winter has reared it’s ugly head, I’ll need to decide a heat source while working , without running the motor and burning fuel all the time. Not worried though, at least I have a pole barn next to the house, big enough to keep it inside!

So many ideas picked up from this site running around my head, they keep me awake at night! Haha
