Hello from some Michiganders living in Alabama!

Hi all!

My husband has been on this forum for some time, but he wanted me to start a new profile as our skoolie begins it's transformation.

We are originally from Michigan and we have a 1991 Thomas Saf-T-Liner with a CAT 3116 engine that we've named Skoobie (I am semi-obsessed with dogs, so it seemed a fitting name). We first used him as a moving vehicle to move from northern New York to Southern Alabama as buying a bus was just as expensive as renting a moving truck. We are staying in one place for a while now, so we have decided to take the plunge and convert Skoobie into the skoolie he was meant to be

I look forward to posting updates and seeing all your cool conversion stories and pictures!

I like the tinted windows, my windows look like that with my homemade screens installed. I like the air horns to I'm installing a train horn next week.

Thank you! We are actually tinting them even darker to about 5% to help with the crazy heat down here in Alabama.
A train horn would be awesome - hope the installation goes smoothly for you

where do you get a train horn? are they hard to hook up? does it have the chain by the window to make the kids smile?

I'm getting money from Amazon, I don't have air on my bus so I'm buying a 4 trumpet compressor/ tank combo. That's all I need as a 12 volt hook up run the line to the button it looks pretty simple.... And that's right up my alley.
